They Are Billions, the zombie survival game that has swept the gaming world in recent weeks, has added a new weekly challenge option alongside a host of quality-of-life improvements.
The headline features of the new update is the Community Challenge, which enables every player to tackle the same scenario in an effort to get the highest possible score in an effort to reach the top of the weekly leaderboard. However, players only have one chance to tackle each challenge, meaning that they need to make their attempt count.
Other features have been added to expand the core gameplay, including Old Towers (which are fortified buildings that have previous been infected and can be repaired and added to the village) and explosive barrels. Beyond these additions, Numantian Games has also made a number of tweaks to the core gameplay and presentation. At the forefront is the ability to add more waypoints to character paths and new swarm music. Meanwhile, the title has also received a number of minor changes, which aim to add automatic pausing, as well as improving responsiveness and readability.
The final major feature of the update is the inclusion of support for nine additional languages: Brazilian Portuguese, Traditional and Simplified Chinese, French, German, Korean, Japanese, Polish, and Russian.
They Are Billions launched into Early Access late last year and has since gone on to amass almost half a million sales, according to SteamSpy. The title is expected to remain in Early Access until at least mid-2018. OnlySP’s DJ Arruda has been checking out the game recently and his thoughts will be available later this weekend.
