The sequel to 2014’s The Evil Within has been announced at Bethesda’s E3 press conference with a haunting new trailer.
While details are vague at this time, the trailer showed much of the horror and atmosphere that players loved from the first game, along with the emotional drama at the heart of the story.
Bethesda has announced an October 13, 2017, release date, which will come as a welcome surprise for fans of the first game.
Directed by auteur Shinji Mikami, The Evil Within is a third-person survival horror game. Focused on Detective Sebastian Castellanos as he investigates a surreal and gore-filled world, the game received generally positive reviews at release. Thus, a sequel has been a long time coming.
The Evil Within 2 will be a cross-platform release (PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One), following in the footsteps of its predecessor.
