CLOSED: Here’s Your Chance to Win The Surge, Yooka-Laylee, and Much More (Australia Only)

Giveaway

Here at OnlySP, we are tired of people telling us to go outside and play this summer. Summer is hot. There are bugs. Also, let’s face it, the graphics are nowhere near as spectacular as The Witcher III.

So to celebrate the joy of staying indoors and immersing ourselves in great video games, OnlySP is running the Play In Summer Giveaway for all our beloved and loyal readers out there.

We are offering a fantastic range of single-player games on a variety of consoles for readers to win. This article will go through just a handful of those games, although further single-player games will be announced as the day goes along.

Because of the limitations of OnlySP’s size, the following games are only available to those readers with Australian mailing addresses, so please keep that in mind before entering. International readers will have plenty of chances to win across the remainder of the weekend.

To enter the giveaway, tell us why one particular game is your game of the summer. Be sure to use the game’s hashtag and the #PlayInSummer hashtag in order to be kept in the running.

The-Surge-Pic-1

The Surge
(One copy to win on Playstation 4)

The Surge is a high-difficulty RPG in a dystopian future where players must study the attack patterns of their enemies, both mechanicaland organic, to survive in a hostile world. In The Surge, the way players choose to attack also determines the loot they get. Attacking vulnerable body-parts will result in a quick death, but directing hits at specific armour will allow the character to take and use that armour. Overall, The Surge is a great combat game that should fill the void left now that the Dark Souls series is over.

To win a copy of The Surge on PS4, include the hashtags #PlayInSummer and #thesurgegame in a Tweet, Facebook status, or Tumblr post and tell us why The Surge is your game for the Summer.

Yooka-Laylee

Yooka-Laylee
(One copy to win on PlayStation 4)

Yooka-Laylee feels like 2017’s spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie, largely due to the fact that many of the same developers worked on both games. This game is rich with the nostalgia feels and, while ostensibly a kid’s game, has some lovely off-colour jokes, such as an NPC character with the wonderful name of Trowzer Snake. Besides that, it is a simple, enjoyable platformer that is easy to get lost in for a few hours.

To win a copy of Yooka-Laylee on PS4, include the hashtags #PlayInSummer and #YookaLaylee in a Tweet, Facebook status, or Tumblr post and tell us why Yooka-Laylee is your game for the Summer.

Cities: Skylines
(One copy to win on Xbox One)

City: Skylines is a city-building simulator which allows you to rise to become the mayor of the city of your own design. Whether the desire is to build the perfect utopia or horribly torture citizens by denying them electricity, waste disposal, or utility services of any description, City: Skylines is the game for everyone. Satisfying the needs and wants of citizens within certain districts can help the player rise through the administrative ranks, fixing a wide range of issues such education, water, electricity, and even traffic. Failing to do so is also amusing. The game has extensive modding support for players wanting a more customisable experience, perhaps desiring to build their own insane buildings or even entire maps and import them straight into the game.

To win a copy of Cities: Skylines on Xbox One, include the hashtags #PlayInSummer and #CitiesSkylines in a Tweet, Facebook status, or Tumblr post and tell us why Cities: Skylines is your game for the Summer.

Minecraft Story Mode (The Complete Adventure)
(One copy to win on Xbox One)

Minecraft Story Mode takes the trademark interactive storytelling of Telltale Games and combines it with everybody’s favourite open-world blocky crafting game. As Minecraft is perhaps the exact opposite of a story-driven game, Telltale Games took the freedom to build an entire world and run with it. Featuring Jesse (who can be male or female) as the protagonist, players will trek across the Minecraft world, overcoming obstacles and making new friends as they descend all the way to the Nether and beyond. The game also has a stellar voice cast, featuring the likes of Patton Oswalt, Ashley Johnson, and Billy West. Minecraft Story Mode (The Complete Adventure) collects the entirety of the first season just in time for the release of the second season, which began earlier this month.

To win a copy of Minecraft Story Mode (The Complete Adventure) on Xbox One, include the hashtags #PlayInSummer and #MinecraftStoryMode in a Tweet, Facebook status, or Tumblr post and tell us why Minecraft Story Mode (The Complete Adventure) is your game for the Summer.
