Sony Bets Big on PSVR at Paris Games Week

Moss

Ahead of its official Paris Games Week press conference, Sony has revealed details on a range of upcoming PlayStation VR games.

The relevant segment of show began with the introduction of a pair of multiplayer-oriented games. The first of those was Megalith, a prehistoric shooter where players take control of a Titan to prove their worth with the goal of becoming a god. The second was Bow to Blood, a quirky adventure game in a fantasy setting involving airships.

Having introduced those two games, the hosts announced a February 2018 release window for Moss, which was originally announced at E3 earlier this year. Moss puts players in the shoes of a disembodied entity who accompanies a mouse named Quill after she accidentally awakes an ancient evil and embarks on a quest to save the world.

Discussion then moved on to a pair of VR-based horror games that are now available ahead of Hallowe’en. One of them is the latest from PixelJunk developer QGames and is called Dead Hungry. Players are tasked with holding off a horde of zombies by preparing and feeding them zombies, in a distinct twist on expectations. The other of those titles is Stifled, from debut studio Gattai Games. Stifled is a more traditional horror experience, seemingly drawing inspiration from the likes of The Unfinished Swan and Perception, with players revealing their surroundings through echolocation which also attracts enemies.

Next, League of War was revealed, which appears to be a real-time strategy/tower defense hybrid that features both a campaign and multiplayer segment.

The PSVR segment ended with the re-reveal of Invector, a rhythm-based racer similar to Amplitude, which was first announced at Paris Games Week 2015.

More details on all of these games will be available in the coming weeks and months, so stay tuned to OnlySP for all the latest, and be sure to follow us on FacebookTwitter, and Tumblr.
