Sniper Elite 4 is Heading to Italy Later This Year

The Sniper Elite series is returning again this year with the next entry, Sniper Elite 4.

Set directly after the events in Africa, players will be heading to Italy this time around, with environments much, much larger than any previously seen in the series.

Here’s the official story synopsis for the game straight from the PlayStation Blog and press release:

Sniper Elite 4 is set in Italy in the direct aftermath of the North African conflict seen in Sniper Elite 3, and Fascism’s grip on the Mediterranean is slipping.

Enter covert agent and series stalwart Karl Fairburne, dropped onto the Italian peninsula in advance of the Allied invasion. What starts out as an assassination mission quickly turns into a race to uncover a conspiracy that could end Allied hopes of retaking the continent for good…

Running in native 1080p on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Sniper Elite 4 is the first game in the series built without the constraints of older hardware and aims to deliver the definitive World War Two shooter for a generation.
From sun-drenched Mediterranean coastal towns to colossal Nazi megastructures, daunting forests and giddying mountain monasteries inspired by Monte Cassino, Sniper Elite 4 will offer breathless emergent stealth action and unrivalled sniping freedom…

According to Rebellion, Sniper Elite 4’s levels will be much bigger than what you saw in Sniper Elite 3. The footage you’ll see in the trailer below is “just a small part of a beautiful coastal town which makes up just one region in one of the game’s earliest levels. Each campaign level is absolutely huge — many times bigger than those seen in Sniper Elite 3, and they already took hours to complete.”

Check out the reveal trailer for Sniper Elite 4 and then head on over to the PlayStation Blog for the full scoop on the game. Stay tuned to OnlySP on Facebook and Twitter for more updates on Sniper Elite 4 as we have them.

Sniper Elite 4 is due out on the PS4, Xbox One and PC later this year.
