Red Faction: Guerrilla Re-Mars-tered has an explosive new trailer, along with confirmation that the remaster will release on July 3.
The project was originally developed in 2009 by Volition Inc., impressing critics with an intricately detailed destruction system and Mars-set open world. Rather infamously, the title was the last major success for THQ pre-bankruptcy.
The remaster contains a full rework of Guerrilla‘s shadows, lighting system, shaders, postprocessing, and other graphical fidelity elements. The update will be free for Steam owners of Red Faction: Guerrilla, which makes a nice change from the current economical models of remastered games.

Guerrilla‘s gameplay still holds up, especially the destruction and combat systems. Remasters are a dime-a-dozen in 2018, but seeing this project get the revamp privilege was a real surprise. Red Faction: Guerrilla Re-Mars-tered will launch on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
