After Bethesda’s rather confusing Andrew WK introduction to its conference, the publisher showed off a new trailer for Rage 2, complete with details regarding the project’s gameplay, open world, and story details.
Story-wise, players will assume the role of the last ranger on Earth, named Walker. The planet, devastated by an asteroid, has descended into a Mad Max-esque dystopia. Primarily, the trailer showed off some more varied environments compared to the original Rage, including some greenland and forested areas, which should offer a nice break from the repetition of deserts and wastelands.
Gameplay-wise, the trailer focused on some new gameplay systems, including a greater focus on vehicle combat, more varied enemy types, along with an integration of a secondary power system. These secondary powers includes a technicolour beserker mode, seen at the end of the teaser.
Primarily, Rage 2 has, on appearances, rectified the major problem with its predecessor: a lack of personality. Check out the zany trailer, which includes details of a collector’s edition, embedded below:
Rage 2 was also given a tentative release date of Spring 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
