With Perception’s launch fast-approaching, The Deep End Games—the company developing and publishing the title—has released a brand-new trailer for the first-person horror adventure game.
The trailer provides viewers with glimpses of the abandoned house that serves as the game’s setting. Perception’s protagonist, Cassie—a blind heroine with phenomenal hearing and acute wit—narrates the trailer, just as she will narrate the game while players unravel mysteries in the abandoned house using Cassie’s profound senses. Watch the full trailer below.
Perception’s development team consists of several former Irrational Games employees. The team began developing the title, which uses Unreal Engine 4, about six months prior to the game’s Kickstarter campaign in May 2015. The game is scheduled to release on May 30, 2017 for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
The Deep End Games is an independent video game developer and publisher comprised of industry veterans. As a whole, the team consists of members with experience formed from working on titles such as the BioShock series, Rock Band, and Dead Space.
