Game Freak and Nintendo recently revealed a new pokémon for their most recent entries into the long running, monster-catching JRPG, Pokémon Sun/Moon for the Nintendo 3DS.
A video trailer (embedded below) was uploaded to The Official Pokemon Youtube Channel on April 7, where the new monster was teased. This pokémon is a new legendary, the name of which is Marshadow.
In the trailer, Marshadow appears as a small and impish ghost-like creature, and is speculated to be a Ghost/Fighting type. The trailer ends by stating that more details on the pokemon will be provided soon. Nintendo and Game Freak have been busy working on more than just Marshadow in terms of new Pokemon content. It was recently rumoured that a new version of Pokemon Sun/Moon will be headed to the Nintendo Switch, under the title of Pokemon Stars.
This new creature is not the first time that Nintendo has released a mythical pokémon. In fact, the practise has become somewhat of a tradition for Nintendo to release special event pokémon that can only be caught during a particular time-frame. The more notable mythical pokémon of past entries include Darkrai, Celebi, and Jirachi, most of which have become household names amongst Pokemon faithful.
Marshadow is also set to appear in the newest Pokémon movie which is on track to be released on July 15, 2017 in Japan. Official word on a North American or International release date has yet to be confirmed. Pokemon Sun/Moon released on November 18th 2016 and are currently available for the Nintendo 3DS.
