Microsoft announced Jurassic World Evolution, a new park-building simulation game based on the Jurassic Park film franchise, during its Gamescom 2017 briefing last night.

Created by Frontier Developments (RollerCoaster Tycoon, Elite: Dangerous, Planet Coaster), Jurassic World Evolution is set to release during the summer of next year for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One consoles. The dinosaur park creation game arrives in conjunction with the film Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, which comes to theaters on June 22, 2018.

Microsoft debuted a trailer for the game during the briefing, consisting of pre-rendered footage showing the emergence of an infant Tyrannosaurus Rex from its egg. Segueing to that same T-Rex in adulthood, the trailer shows the massive lizard wreaking havoc, escaping from its pen and killing a guard in its rampage. The camera then pans to show the theme park in the distance, and the creation of a nearby facility which dispatches a helicopter to deal with the escaped dinosaur.

The trailer insinuates Jurassic World Evolution will have everything a player might expect from a game of its type, including breeding of dinosaurs and overseeing the various problems that inevitably occur. Though entirely pre-rendered footage, the trailer also shows the development team’s desire to stay true to the look and feel of the Jurassic Park film franchise. Several Diplodoci can be viewed in the background rearing on their hind legs to pluck juicy leaves from the tops of trees, just as they did in the very first movie, and a trio of Triceratops lumber about with one hulking Stegosaurus.
