Planet of the Apes: Last Frontier, the narrative-based game set within the larger transmedia universe, is set for a PlayStation 4 release later this month.
The Imaginarium, the production house developing the game, finally revealed the launch date on PS4 for November 21 in North America and Europe. Although the title has also been confirmed for PC and Xbox One, the release dates for those platforms remain unknown at this time.
The game will be available digitally for USD$20. As part of the release date confirmation, The Imaginarium also announced that pre-orders will include the soundtrack and five PSN ape avatars.
This release comes a few weeks after the game accidentally hit the PlayStation Store for approximately 20 minutes. Although it was quickly removed, a number of gamers were able to download the title.
Last Frontier will be the first major console release for the Imaginarium, the studio founded by Andy Serkis.
The Planet of the Apes saga began as a French novel by Pierre Boulle in 1963, and has since grown into a massive franchise, pushed along with its recent reboot in 2011, Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
