The E3 Expo website has inadvertently confirmed that Polish developer and The Witcher masterminds CD Projekt RED will be showing a new RPG at this year’s E3.
On the E3 exhibitor show planner, the studio has been given an exhibition slot with the associated product categories of “Role-Playing” for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The developer’s current project, Cyberpunk 2077, has been in development for a while, with the first trailer coming five years ago. Word on the project was silent for years, until the official Twitter page made a few murmurs in January.
Of course, Cyberpunk 2077 is only the likely candidate for being showcased, as the The Witcher developer may be showcasing something to do with its card game Gwent, or, whilst unlikely, a brand new IP reveal to surprise everyone. Rumours began to circulate about a possible E3 unveiling following CD Projekt’s financial results conference on March 21, which also revealed a few more gameplay details for the upcoming title.
