After three months of silence, the developers of the indie horror-adventure game Scorn have provided a development update.
According to a recent blog post by creative director Ljubomir Peklar, the relative quiet surrounding Scorn in the past few months was due to the aftermath of the successful Kickstarter campaign. With the influx of funds, the team members put their heads down, focusing on creating a great game. In addition, the team spent a considerable amount of time analyzing feedback from players who tried out Scorn‘s demo, rethinking the design and planning the future of the game.
“We stripped some of the levels down entirely, in order to add additional layers of polish to the entire environment,” wrote Peklar. “We also took some time to rethink puzzles, improve animations, overall gameplay, and immersion.”

Scorn is an immersive, atmospheric horror title featuring a gameworld filled with maze-like structures inhabited by strange, twisted creatures. Artwork reminiscent of H.R. Giger combines the mechanical and organic to create a living environment for players to explore. First announced in 2014, the game had a rough start, failing its first crowdfunding attempt. After receiving outside funding and finding success in its second crowdfunding attempt, Scorn is expected to see release sometime in 2018.
